Parasite - A Guide To Popular Filming Locations
The 2019 South Korean dark comedy-thriller "Parasite" has been under the microscope recently after receiving a lot of buzz for its popularity and success at the 92nd Academy Awards. On February 11th, 2020 the film and director Bong Joon-ho took home 6 different awards for their success.

Back in May 2019, Parasite also received high accolades from the Cannes Film Festival after receiving the Palme d'Or reward. Bong Joon-ho is the first Korean director to win this award.
Following the films intense popularity in both Cannes, France and North America, it has become the most successful non-English film released in North America this year.

1. Woori Supermarket in the film, otherwise known as Doijissal Supermarket in real life, is where Ki-woo was first introduced to the idea of taking the part-time tutor position. You can visit this local supermarket where it has quickly become a hot spot for Parasite fans to visit and snap photos out front. Take the time to visit this location and pickup some of your favorite snacks while you're at it!

Directions: Subway Line 2, Line 5 Exit 6 at Chungjeongno Station, 10 minute walk to the location
2. Located just a 1 minute walk away from Woori/Doijissal Supermarket are the stairs leading up to President Park's House, where Ki-jeong buys the peaches that he brings to the Park's house. These stairs are in a residential area, so visitors are asked to be respectful of residents if you choose to visit!

3. After the Park family unexpectedly comes home from a cancelled camping trip, Ki-taek's family escapes their house and flee to the stairs of the Jahamun Tunnel in the heavy rain. Located around this tunnel are other popular tourist attractions such as the Seoul Museum of Art and Gyeongbokgung Palace, make a day trip of it and be sure to check these locations out!

4. The locally owned and run pizza place called Sky Pizza (Pizza Age in the movie) has been around for 17 years and is a fan favorite for shooting locations. The actual boxes they used in the movie are on display inside, and there is a picture of the owner with Bong Joon-ha out on the front window. While you are here, make sure to try some of the awesome signature dishes the pizza shop offers!
